I was inspired to paint this artwork after a kayaking trip on the Pieman River, Corinna, on the west coast of Tasmania. I saw many of these beautiful birds, sitting solitary and patiently, waiting for prey. The backdrop of the Pieman river was magnificent, One of my favourite places ever. I would have loved to have my good camera with me but didn’t trust myself with it whilst kayaking. So thank you Perry for the use of your image.
